- Excellent product with excellent support.

- Well, there have been several magazine tests done in the past
- while, of varying degrees of usefulness. In general Hayes have done
- exceptionally well when it comes to throughput tests, but only when done
- over a dirrect connection (eg absolutely no line impairments), however it
- performed rather poorly in PSTN testing (how the modem will perform over
- lines designed to simulate real world conditions). The Motorola has been a
- bit back on the throughput (although still ahead of the average, likely due
- to their use of 256 byte LAP-M packets), but was damn near the top for
- PSTN performance. IMO the Motorola is a MUCH better buy. The only
- problem I could see with the Motorola internals is that Motorola has made
- some of the Plug 'n Play, making them difficult to configure with anything
- but Microsoft's newest broken OS (Win'95), and in some case it's simply
- unuasable. I'd recommend trying to find one that either has jumpers, or
- getting an external instead. IMO making a Plug'n Play device without
- providing a way to disable that "feature" is just a really REALLY bad
- idea.
